Today, we (Mozilla Nepal) conducted an orientation program with title “Introduction to Mozilla Community” at National School of Science (NSS), Kathmandu. The event was co-ordinated by Amit Shrestha, student in NSS and active volunteer at Mozilla Nepal. There were about 50 participants in the program.
In the program, three presentations were given by three representatives of Mozilla.Nootan Ghimire (Mozilla Reps) gave a presentation on introduction to open source and Mozilla where he highlighted about the importance and potential of open source products.
Surit Aryal (Mozilla Reps) talked about the products of Mozilla and SWOT of Mozilla (Strength Weakness Opportunity and Threat) where he discussed how students can take benefit of the Mozilla products.
And the later presentation was given by Roshan Gautam (Regional Ambassador Lead) on Mozilla Webmaker where participants were presented with Thimble project of Mozilla with live demonstration. There was a discussion on how Thimble project can be helpful for the students who are learning web designing.
Above all, the event was interactive and quite fruitful. Students were excited to know about the products of Mozilla and the potential of open source products.
This event is a part of orientation (awareness program) about Mozilla Community and Mozilla Nepal.
